Mayhem in Konjito
EGarticle

An attack has struck Konjito, and different points in Elder’s Grove. At about 3am local time, on the same night that the New Arc Terminus was added in Omanganva, some number of attackers dressed in black assaulted Elder’s Grove. Reports vary from less than a dozen to over a hundred enemy soldiers, who stormed the outside gate leading into Konjito. They quickly overcame the guards, and struck into Konjito. Scores are reported dead or missing, hundreds are wounded. Explosives were used in a seemingly indiscriminate manner. No one is certain as to who the mysterious attackers were. Three bodies have been recovered, but if there was any information gleaned from the corpses, it has not yet been shared. Reports are still coming in, but we can confirm that Master Mei Lin and Mayor Green were among the deceased. There is a lot of fear here, in a community ravaged by the Adam plague, Thinking Machines, and the vagaries of Eclipse. And now this senseless assault. Many of the dead are from the Meurlain community, and they are seeking to understand who has attacked them. There are reports that psionics were ineffective against them, but fringers deny that any of their null mutants would have taken part in this horrific action. Some note that the Arc Terminus was connected with Atlantis around the time of the assault, but no concrete information has been announced. We will wait for more information before we act, but those who perpetrated this carnage should be […]

Harmony Nexus
HNF ENN

Recently, the soon to be opened community center of Elder’s Grove was burned to the ground. This lamentable event urges me to reach out to all of you. The Harmony Nexus Foundation seeks to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good. Our mission is to provide service to people in need, and to call other people of good will to do the same. We are an independent, philanthropic organization that delivers aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, or natural/manufactured disasters. We seek to provide assistance to populations in need, regardless of race, religion, or political convictions. We believe every man, woman, and child should have health care, housing, proper nourishment and education. The decision to offer aid is based solely on an independent assessment of people’s needs — not on political, economic, or religious interests. We do not aid or take sides, according to the demands of governments, or warring parties. We are building community centers across the planet, so that everyone in a community can have a place they can go to feel safe, receive food, shelter, healing etc. We are building the centers as safely and as quickly as we can. But it takes time, it takes credits, and it takes the help of good people to make it possible. This recent wanton destruction is a prime example of why we need to set aside our differences and remember we all share this planet together. I […]

Terrorists get Justice
Downingsarticles

Nadia Solarii announced that the perpetrators behind a series of bombings have been dealt with. They were known to have been implicated in a bombing in Downings which killed a man named Joran Nitra almost two years ago, a double bombing at the Library, and caused some damage in Elder’s Grove. They are known to be responsible for at least eight murders, an attempt on Ms. Solarii’s life, and are suspected to have been tied to dozens of other murders and dark crimes. Little is known of who hired them, or why. The Badder Garden Group formed after a short lived stint with Orpheon as enforcers of the Treaty of Eclipse. The teams they sent were known to be ruthless and greedy, and no one wanted them after that fiasco. They became mercenaries, and have been responsible for damage and mayhem ever since. Thanks to Maxwell Quintain of Elder’s Grove, and some well-known heroes of Gatetown, the last of them have been brought to justice. Downings authorities are currently searching for someone named Sergei, who was said to have hired them for reasons unknown. A reward is offered for his capture, or information leading to his capture. Ms. Solarii also announced tariffs against goods from the Compound. No reason was given, but the Qua’ri have been putting pressure on her for quite some time to distance Downings from the Dahhak of the Compound, who have been suspected of ritual murders and assassination attempts against the Kshathrans.

Imperial unrest
whitefalls

In recent days, several small groups of Imperials have left White Falls, to start new lives elsewhere. Many are choosing the Compound, although Morgan’s Landing and the Library have been given as destinations. The Juntach command has been asking those with vital skills to stay in White Falls, vowing to examine and rectify issues of discrimination. Their spokesman issued a short speech. “Fellow Imperials. We are united by our faith, our culture, and our Empress. These are difficult times for us all, and we all have to pull together to survive and grow. It is true that there has been some rare discrimination against those providing support services, and we are addressing those issues. However, this is not a time to fall apart. It is a time for us to come together, to face the challenges and dangers on this world, and continue with a resolute faith in Ehieh. We hope for your patience at this time, because if we do not stand together against the chaos, then we shall surely fall.” There are stories that the imperial garrison is beginning to rely on the Disciples of Dyzan for some support needs. Their camp infrastructure is said to be falling apart, having been quickly established, and expected to be used for a year or two at most. In addition to the construction of the Cathedral of St. Cleo, the Disciples have begun surveying and building a section of town for the use of the Garrison. There are also stories that […]

Yazata Tensions Escalate
EGarticle

The Yazata have been hotly debating a recently passed motion for over a week now. The measure gives sanction to a re-settlement plan, approved in the last days of the lame duck session, and carried by only two votes. A committee has been established to study the issue, and is authorized to make binding decisions. The committee is largely composed of Spores loyalists, who have great faith in their plan. The committee is studying several options. They have been considering establishing a new settlement near White Falls. Close enough to the road to establish trade, far enough from White Falls so as not to encroach on either settlements growth. The Spores have made the case that the recent rise in population justifies the expansion. There has been quite the quiet baby boom in the last few years, and by it’s nature Elder’s Grove cannot expand, unless someone wants to live outside the force fields. Even with those who have died in the last year, the population is increasing. The Vines favor slowly expanding outside the field, and keeping the community together. The committee is also considering creating a community in White Falls itself. There is certain infrastructure there, and a thriving market in energy tech, among other goods. Also, settling on a new continent will help to ensure the Yazata survive possible future catastrophes. The Vines have been heavily protesting this measure, which technically would continue into the new session. They vow measures to repeal the committee and it’s “unprecedented […]
