Building Hope
whitefalls

Friar Strigoi gathered the faithful today in White Falls, to commemorate the groundbreaking on the Cathedral of St. Cleo the Compassionate. It will be primarily a Dyzanite temple, on grounds close to the growing center of the settlement. Friar Malina spoke with reporters. “It will be a community center, a house of Worship for whomever you choose to pray to. A refuge from the vagaries of this planet. There will be a wing where those who believe in Ehieh can feel more comfortable, with Imperial priests and those who follow that faith. The grand entrance will contain many rooms, where we hope that other faiths may maintain shrines, for those traveling to White Falls.” Friar Strigoi also recorded a statement of peace for all. That message is available here: Message from Friar Strigoi

Heightened Security!!
KreeArchive

Kree Archive – At a press conference held at the Vinro Vault, Lord Wilhelm Bremmer, adviser to House Vinro, spoke on behalf of the Household and its leader Juris Vinro. He discussed matters of house security. The talk was in response to concerns about Vinro’s recent increase in mercenaries and security personnel recruitment. Before a crowd of reporters and citizens, Bremmer stated that, “In lieu of the recent Adam plague and issues of unrest and violence befalling other settlements, Juris Vinro feels that now, more than ever, it is important to maintain the security of the Imperium and its allies. The violence that has plagued settlements like Elders Grove and the Compound, could just as easily spread to our doors if we waiver in our vigilance.” Lord Bremmer added, “Of course it is not his Grace’s wish to abandon his allies and neighbors. But we must make certain that our home is secure, before we can safely attend to the needs of others.” Bremmer briefly answered a few questions before the conference was concluded. He declined to name any of the outside security contractors in negotiations with house Vinro, but many believe that Forza Protection Services is first and foremost on that list. When questioned about the seemingly aggressive increase in security personnel around the Vault itself, he responded that Vinro household security had discovered evidence of a ‘credible threat to Vinro and other members of the nobility’, but was unable to discuss it, as it was part of an […]

Local news from EG
EGarticle

Tensions continue to mount in the Yazata community, over the last few weeks there have been 3 fires and a small riot, all connected to political disagreements. A vote of no confidence has passed, forcing the Yazata government to call for new elections in the next few months. The Vines are widely favored in the new elections, which threatens the small majority that the Spores previously had. Only 2 candidates are known to be running as Weeds, and polling indicates that neither is likely to be elected. Also in the news, a string of arsons has been plaguing the market. The latest to be hit was the new Community Center. It was almost completed, when the vandals broke in late one night. Two community volunteers were discovered tied up nearby. Significant damage was done to the property, and anything that seemed valuable was stolen. After leaving, the vandals set three fires, which did extensive structural damage before the Mayor’s firefighting team could extinguish the blaze. No suspects have been named, and Harlan Dobey, of the Mayor’s office, has offered a significant reward for any news of this terrible act. The Meurlain announced the completion of an orchid garden in Konjito, dedicated to peace. Visitors will be welcome during normal business hours. The garden is enclosed in glass, and also has an attached aviary, and a day care. All will be welcome for a small donation, and are invited to stroll along the long paths, tour the circle of thorns, and […]

Qua’Ri mourns a Hero
Downingsarticles

The Qua’Ri settlement mourns the loss of Onen H’Mon, respected master and elder statesman of the Kshathran community on Eclipse. A veteran of the long-standing conflict between the Kshathrans and the Dahhak, Onen gave up his military career decades ago to teach A’tar to later generations of warriors willing to pick up the fight against injustice and slavery. Many of the masters in Qua’Ri, as well as on Vairya, owe their knowledge of the ancient techniques of A’tar to his tutelage. Though known for his strong leanings towards conservatism and traditional Kshathran values, Onen avoided political involvement, refusing several requests for him to join the Council. He has served them as an adviser and liaison, including acting as an ambassador representing the settlement in a summit held by the Atlanteans two years ago. In contrast to his tumultuous, often violent life as a warrior, Onen died peacefully in his sleep. He was 97 years old. In a eulogy colleague and long time friend , J’Toth Keresik, told of a man steeped in tradition, but ever vigilant for the future. “We often times did not see eye to eye on many things,” J’Toth said,”But that never stopped us from working together for, not just the good of the Kshathrans, but for all races. Having witnessed first hand the threats that our people faced, he was determined to ensure that we never again fell prey to our enemies, no matter who they were.” The Councilman added,”I feel confident that, even in death, […]

End of an Era
GateTown_logo

After many years of faithful service, the train to station city is now out of commission. The station city council has finally run out of spare parts to keep it running. Maintenance has always been a challenge, since the ubiquitous nanites keep eating techonology. The train attracted much less attention than the aircraft that some dreamed of building on Eclipse, but there has been a rate of breakdown common to the harshest of planetary conditions. And the more advanced technology has been subject to even greater degradation. Which meant that the old fashioned train just kept running. Occasional gunfire and marauder attacks have also taken their toll. Going down the Marauder Rail road is now the only consistent contact with the outside world, and no convoy has been that way in several months. Ever since the last one was attacked by marauders. Still, the folks in Station City have thrived in isolation from the rest of Eclipse. It’s sometimes called the forgotten settlement, but they have survived through years of war, and a constant threat of marauders, so they must be doing something right.

Special Report, trade ties cut
EGarticle

Elder’s Grove is severing trade ties with the Library. Over the last few months, several plots have been discovered involving Imperials, and local officials from all four districts have clamored for something to be done. Mayor Green finally bowed to public pressure, and has declared an embargo on all traffic to and from the Library. At a press conference, he once again expressed regret that things have come to this point. However, secret incontrovertible evidence has revealed that the Library is home to an Imperial conspiracy, which threatens the Kshathrans of Downings, and the free settlement of Elder’s Grove. The 3 rivers road has been declared closed to all non-essential traffic, and convoys have been asked to cease operating on the road, “until the security situation improves”. Sanctions have been announced against the Library, and Brax Sunder was singled out for “sponsoring terrorist activity”. Citizens have been asked to avoid contact with Imperials from the Library, even indirectly. Monitors will be sent through the Market to ensure that goods and services of the library are not being traded, “while we get everything figured out.” Mayor Green thanked all of Elder’s Grove for their patience in this trying time, and for their forbearance over the next few weeks, as EG loyalists work to “contain the current situation.” *editor’s note – this article previously used the background image for the Library. The image has been corrected.

Vacation Trendsetters
KreeArchive

This is your beloved reporter from the Library, Kitty Barclay. Well, with the spring slowly turning into the summer, the fashion set is going on vacation! Brian Astar Vinro, the BAV himself, is going to scenic White Falls. Of course, his entourage is traveling with him, as well as his very pregnant, supposedly estranged wife Maggie Faux. The granddaughter of Jolin Azanal is well known among the celebutantes of Downings, but now she’s bringing glamor back to the backwater. Seriously, White Falls smells. I refuse to go there, no matter how many fashionable or well-connected Vinro want to spend their summer there. I’ve heard that Morgan’s Landing is also shaping up to be a popular getaway, what with the fabulous Madeline Evers-Kree, and her many admirers among the ladies of House Kree. And returning to a story I’ve been following. The investigation of the two bombings from last year have been traced to a fringer. Some low-life named Smirking Sergei, with ties to Morgan’s Landing, who is said to have recruited the terrorists known as the Badder Garden Group. I thank Mr. Sunder for this important update, and I truly hope someone catches that miserable man and makes him pay. I’d like an Atiran Sunrise please, with a side of vengeance. This is Kitty Barclay, signing off.

New Exciting Trends!!!
Downingsarticles

Tubing is one trend that has been growing in popularity. There are underground rivers that run through and near Downings. Gamblers have set standards for rubber inner tubes, which competitors will race through the dark passages, trying to keep from getting smashed against walls, smacking into the low hanging ceiling, or sucked into a side channel where your chances of survival grow slim. Every week or two, an enthusiast is hauled from the water. Sometimes they can be revived, and there is a demand for metabolics at these events. Teams are beginning to form. They have names like the Terrible Trout, the Killer Krakens, and the Dizzy Dragons. Another trend is Fighting Robot Matches. They are remote controlled, of course. No one wants Thinking Machines. Still, the very well-known and fashionable Ms. Trakas has been seen at the events, which always brings attention. The first few have been spectacular, showing off the formidable mechanical and other tech skills here in Downings. My favorite was the fire shooting Negasaurus War Machine. Many competitors were sent into the slag heap that day, my friends. Until the Colossal Whirr chewed it into tiny pieces and rolled over it as it exploded. That was AWESOME! And DJ Skylar was amazingsauce, as usual. The caves where they happen smell like burnt oil and shredded steel for months after, and the amount of tech that is shredded in a small time is significant. But boy, is it worth it! For those looking for liquid excitement, Sigsour […]

The Compound welcomes immigrants
Compound_article

Voice of The Compound Saddik Sanjani has announced that they will be opening their doors for new immigrants, especially in the outer wall area. There are also new opportunities for those wishing to advance their standing into the inner walls. The Defense against the Adam Plague was successful, but some of the Compound’s valiant defenders fell. Meaning that there are opportunities for advancement. Also, during the last six months the Compound has been building, both underground and aboveground. This means there are more living spaces, more rooftop gardens, and more room for those looking for a tolerant, secure place to raise a family. Not only have the Imperials and Dahhak been able to unite as a people, they have kept faith with the teachings of Jerich the second. Mutants have been embraced, among both peoples. Ms. Sanjani points to the success of Gideion Kasla, a Kshathran. Even with the ancient hatred between the Dahhak and Kshathrans, people are able to live in peace at The Compound. Through Mr. Kasla’s hard work and dedication, he has set an example of hard work and dedication that is an inspiration to all. The Compound endorses the products of his company, Removable Defender. Their products are known to be of exceptional quality and craftsmanship, and are a testament to tolerance and dignity. He brings glory to Sundrav, and to Ehieh. Of course, they are still maintaining controls over the character of those they admit, but all Tribes and humans are welcome, and will be […]

New settlement planned on Mu
MorgansLanding_article

The Midir of Morgan’s Landing have announced, much to the surprise of the other residents, that they have plans to build a new settlement. The group, who call themselves Elal’s Children, have claimed land to the southwest of Morgan’s Landing. They seem to have the support of the vast majority of Midir in the settlement, and some midir from other settlements. Baytla Carasi, the group’s leader, said, “It is vital that Midir have a place to all live together, for that is our way. This dissolution of our culture is harmful not only to our heritage but to our future. Although we may never again see our home world of Trita, we can at least show our young ones a glimpse of what it was like. We plan to call our new home Little Trita. All people will be welcome to live there, if they so choose, and we hope to have a thriving trade with the other settlements of Eclipse, Morgan’s Landing especially. I ask all Midir to come assist with this endeavor. If you cannot come, send funds. If you cannot send funds, then remember us in your prayers. Elal bless you.” There is not yet a scheduled date for the start of construction. Although the land itself has been arranged, Elal’s Children are still in process of gethering resources, and appear to only have met a small fraction of their goal at this time. Many in Morgan’s Landing have expressed concern that if all the Midir leave, […]

Horrific scene found at the Dam
whitefalls

Three bodies have been discovered at the White Falls dam. Due to the mutilated state of the deceased, a few days were needed to identify them. Authorities now report that they have been identified as Friar Ethoni, Trista of the Dyzanites, and Lieutenant Brian Juntach. All three were residents of the dam, and patrolled the catacombs beneath it together. There are currently no leads on who or what could have committed this atrocity. House Juntach is conducting an investigation with the full support of Lord Jastor. Lord Jastor has issued this statement, “My heart is grieved at the loss of my children, and the loss of the honorable Lieutenant Juntach. Crimes such as these will be met with swift justice. I am offering a 1000 credit reward for any information that proves useful to House Juntach’s investigation. I encourage those grieving during this time to find comfort in the churches of Dyzan, or Ehieh. No matter your personal faith, all are welcome.” A memorial service for the deceased will take place tomorrow between noon to six at the Holy Dyzan Community Church on Broad St.
