Hope to the Helpless: Cornerstone Adoption Agency
Compound_article

by Lily Lister This has been an age of unsurpassed achievement. When threatened by the worst foe in living memory, Eclipse emerged victorious. Yet when the dust settled we saw that our great victory also contained great loss. None were hit harder than those already most vulnerable: the children. Thirty-eight percent of all children at the Compound are orphans. However, thanks to the efforts of a warm-hearted couple, that percentage is daily decreasing. Donald and Karen D’Loc decided they couldn’t stand by when children were living in the streets. Thus, Cornerstone Adoption Agency was formed. I sat down with Mrs. D’Loc over lunch to discuss the tragic circumstances, her and her husband’s call to action, and the blossoming of CAA. Lily Lister: So, Mrs. D’Loc— Karen D’Loc: Please, call me Karen. LL: All right. Karen, many people must have seen the orphan problem at the Compound, but you and your husband were the only ones who did something about it. Why do you think that is? KD: Oh, well, we weren’t the only ones. There’s also been the Duennan, but times have been tough for everyone, and so many families were devastated in the war. I don’t think people intentionally turned a blind eye to the suffering. They just weren’t able to see beyond their own struggle. LL: What made you and Donald different? KD: For a while we weren’t. But then on my way home one day, a little boy named Caleb—no more than four years old—asked if I […]

Heroic Rescue in Gatetown
GateTown_logo

A Gate Town response team rescued a convoy of Free Szgany from Szgany soldiers acting on the orders of Prince Arioch after their convoy was caught in a deadly ambush on the Old Road. Witnesses report that the soldiers were forcing the Free Szgany to partake in a religious ritual of Dyzan called “the Sacrament” by drinking a chemical concoction that binds the Szgany to their Lords. A young woman of the Free Szgany, who wished to remain unnamed, managed to slip free of the ambush and make her way to Gate Town for aid. A response team was quickly formed to free the convoy and escort it to safety. Reached for commentary, Baron Elijah Morgan Kell was quick to compliment the response, saying “I am always amazed how the people of Gate Town, really all of the colonists on Eclipse, will rally so quickly to defend others, as if we are all one people.”

Friar Found Dead
whitefalls

A beloved Dyzanite Friar was found dead Wednesday in his house of worship, spurring authorities to launch a murder investigation and those he touched to try to make sense of his sudden passing. Jeb Nicaud and Darla Boucher — responding to a call from staff at Riverside Shrine — first came across the victim around 9 a.m. Wednesday. They did not elaborate on how the death occurred, adding Wednesday night that there were no suspects. Lord Jastor identified the victim as Friar Simza, whom he called an outstanding Friar and an “incredible person in this community”. Szgany and Family authorities remained at Riverside Shrine late Wednesday processing the crime scene and following up on tips, Boucher said, but do not yet have any solid leads.

Atlantis Trade Negotiations
Atlantis

A trade delegation led by Saito Ichiro (Meurlain) and Samir Abbasi (Midir) continues to meet with representatives of the Kingdom of Atlantis at Ironwood Terminus. “Our goal is to expand diplomatic and economic ties with the peoples of Atlantis,” said Abbasi. The Kingdom of Atlantis, ruled by King Lysandros VI, has remained aloof since the completion of the War, turning away all but a handful of visitors. Many observers believe that the kingdom has taken encouraging steps towards a more open relationship recently, including a call from King Lysandros for Atlantean volunteers to travel throughout the Hyperborean and Mu settlements.

Aggressor Named
whitefalls

It has been reported that the recent attacks on the Szgany convoys of the Old Road were enacted by none other than the Ahramnhi individual known as Prince Arioch and those Szgany loyal to him. The Szgany faithful who serve Lord Jastor of White Falls as well as Lord Jastor himself, have denounced Arioch’s actions as a breach of the peace and have called for an immediate cessation of his hostilities towards all Szgany convoys. Lord Jastor has gone one step further and urged all settlements to reach out to him with any information regarding Arioch’s whereabouts. He has offered 1000 Imperial credits as reward for any information that leads to a successful finding of the rogue Ahramnhi. Those with recent information about Arioch’s whereabouts, even temporary sightings, could claim as much as 100 credits for their contributions. When asked for his accompanying statements to this recent bounty proclamation, Lord Jastor had this to say, “We are appalled at [Arioch’s] behavior in this matter. His actions are needlessly provocative, and will do nothing toward contributing to the mutual prosperity and coexistence of all the remaining peoples of our galaxies.”
