Call for Unification

Fellow settlements, Imperials, and other residents of Eclipse, we are at war. The Vinro Vault and Kree Archive – collectively known as the Library – have been very patient regarding the repeated attacks against us. Our attempts at diplomacy have been met with scorn. Our calls for aid have been ignored. We understand that each settlement only wants to police and worry about it’s own citizens, but do you really think that once this so called ‘Elder’s Grove Defense Force’ takes over the Library that it will stop there? Absolutely not. We cannot allow such indecent, unlawful actions to stand. Eclipse has been a wild frontier for far too long. It is time that the decent and structured among us stepped up and brought order into this chaos. The Library calls to The Compound, to Morgan’s Landing, and to anyone who still identifies with our glorious Imperial culture to unite as one body. We will be the New Imperium – an Imperium that welcomes all races and cultures. The New Imperium is for any person who respects law and order, who wants to protect their own, and who wants to see the people of Eclipse thrive. The enemy is at our doorstep. Their most recent attack completely destroyed all our defensive equipment and caused extreme damage to the roads leading to our settlement. If our diplomatic attempts are scorned once again, or if the enemy advances any further, we will have no choice but to unleash our Atomic arsenal upon […]

Uncool raids must end!

So, seriously. This is your divine reporter from the world famous Library, Kitty Barclay. Well, the spring is slowly turning into summer again, but the only fashion we get is the latest in military fatigues. It’s all the rage now. No girl would be caught dead dating someone who’s not working to defend our home. And everyone knows that all the hottest guys are in uniforms this year. Even the one and only BAV signed up. And they’re not dating the girls who aren’t serving. So find out how you can serve, and be involved in the finest fashion of all. And really, our last shipment of materials and fabrics out of Atlantis was hijacked by those damned ruffians out of Elder’s Grove. Not that there aren’t some fashionable people in Elder’s Grove (I’m looking at you, Zebulon Mandragora. And of course Elder Cypress, in a classic sort of way.) I just can’t believe it. Right now, there are some big thuggy fringers roaming around in the finest purples on Eclipse. And so soft. We were going to make some amazing things this season. And then this happened. I mean, no one has seen Juris Vinro in weeks. Nobody knows what happens if we just turn him over, but it doesn’t seem right. You know what I mean? If they weren’t already attacking us, maybe we could talk. Well, I’m calling them out. I think Maxwell Quintain has a tiny little…finger. I think he needs to find women that are […]

The Library stands

Leaders of the Library have issued a short statement. “These accusations are false. We do not recognize the authority of any other settlement over the Library. We have an Atomic weapon, and if we are threatened, we will use it to defend our home against Tyranny. We praise Ehieh, and call on him to bless our actions. In this time of growing chaos, only we can do what must be done. To protect our families, our friends, our sacred charge.

Heightened Security!!

Kree Archive – At a press conference held at the Vinro Vault, Lord Wilhelm Bremmer, adviser to House Vinro, spoke on behalf of the Household and its leader Juris Vinro. He discussed matters of house security. The talk was in response to concerns about Vinro’s recent increase in mercenaries and security personnel recruitment. Before a crowd of reporters and citizens, Bremmer stated that, “In lieu of the recent Adam plague and issues of unrest and violence befalling other settlements, Juris Vinro feels that now, more than ever, it is important to maintain the security of the Imperium and its allies. The violence that has plagued settlements like Elders Grove and the Compound, could just as easily spread to our doors if we waiver in our vigilance.” Lord Bremmer added, “Of course it is not his Grace’s wish to abandon his allies and neighbors. But we must make certain that our home is secure, before we can safely attend to the needs of others.” Bremmer briefly answered a few questions before the conference was concluded. He declined to name any of the outside security contractors in negotiations with house Vinro, but many believe that Forza Protection Services is first and foremost on that list. When questioned about the seemingly aggressive increase in security personnel around the Vault itself, he responded that Vinro household security had discovered evidence of a ‘credible threat to Vinro and other members of the nobility’, but was unable to discuss it, as it was part of an […]

Special Report, trade ties cut

Elder’s Grove is severing trade ties with the Library. Over the last few months, several plots have been discovered involving Imperials, and local officials from all four districts have clamored for something to be done. Mayor Green finally bowed to public pressure, and has declared an embargo on all traffic to and from the Library. At a press conference, he once again expressed regret that things have come to this point. However, secret incontrovertible evidence has revealed that the Library is home to an Imperial conspiracy, which threatens the Kshathrans of Downings, and the free settlement of Elder’s Grove. The 3 rivers road has been declared closed to all non-essential traffic, and convoys have been asked to cease operating on the road, “until the security situation improves”. Sanctions have been announced against the Library, and Brax Sunder was singled out for “sponsoring terrorist activity”. Citizens have been asked to avoid contact with Imperials from the Library, even indirectly. Monitors will be sent through the Market to ensure that goods and services of the library are not being traded, “while we get everything figured out.” Mayor Green thanked all of Elder’s Grove for their patience in this trying time, and for their forbearance over the next few weeks, as EG loyalists work to “contain the current situation.” *editor’s note – this article previously used the background image for the Library. The image has been corrected.

Vacation Trendsetters

This is your beloved reporter from the Library, Kitty Barclay. Well, with the spring slowly turning into the summer, the fashion set is going on vacation! Brian Astar Vinro, the BAV himself, is going to scenic White Falls. Of course, his entourage is traveling with him, as well as his very pregnant, supposedly estranged wife Maggie Faux. The granddaughter of Jolin Azanal is well known among the celebutantes of Downings, but now she’s bringing glamor back to the backwater. Seriously, White Falls smells. I refuse to go there, no matter how many fashionable or well-connected Vinro want to spend their summer there. I’ve heard that Morgan’s Landing is also shaping up to be a popular getaway, what with the fabulous Madeline Evers-Kree, and her many admirers among the ladies of House Kree. And returning to a story I’ve been following. The investigation of the two bombings from last year have been traced to a fringer. Some low-life named Smirking Sergei, with ties to Morgan’s Landing, who is said to have recruited the terrorists known as the Badder Garden Group. I thank Mr. Sunder for this important update, and I truly hope someone catches that miserable man and makes him pay. I’d like an Atiran Sunrise please, with a side of vengeance. This is Kitty Barclay, signing off.

Double Bombing Roils the Library

This is just shocking, shocking. This is your source of information on the Library, Kitty Barclay. There have been two explosions here. Fortunately, no one important was caught in the blasts. At this time, seven people are confirmed dead, and over two dozen reported missing. It happened this morning, near one of the fashionable open markets that have been springing up in the quainter sections of town. Reportedly, several of our heroic watchmen had discovered a mysterious package, when an explosion ripped through at the edges of the market. Many people were injured, but there were few deaths. Teams had been sent to discover more of what was going on, and medical technicians were doing what they could, when another explosion tore through the rescue crews. Some have said that the second explosion was caused by this mysterious package. OME. I am shocked at this act of senseless violence. And what kind of person does this? There was no political message sent, no explanation for why someone would target the people that help us survive on this mad world. Brax Sunder has issued a statement that he will be personally leading a commission to get to the bottom of this. Sources say that he is furious, that it was his people who were targeted. I say this is a moment of mourning for our lost, and then we will turn our righteous Imperial Fury on those that were responsible. Sophie Naa has announced three fundraising balls, with all proceeds going […]

Everhart Gala a smashing success

This is your darling reporter from the Library, Kitty Barclay. I’m here to tell you about the latest grand Gala. Balls are all the fashion this year, and it seems like a good outlet for all the testosterone we’ve had around here lately. And besides, the gossip there is truly to die for. There’s talk of reality shows from Downings trying to get in on the action, but here at the Library, we are the new fashion trendsetters. Everyone who is anyone will be wearing the top fashions being displayed at the latest balls, this time it was Kree that shone. And oh, what a show. Cherise and Clarise were there, as well as a delegation from Atlantis. Modism is so 164. This year it could be Möller, Foré, Talisker or Naa. Right here, the height of Fashion, at the Library. This is Kitty Barclay, signing off!

Modism takes the Library by force

This is your friendly reporter from the Library, Kitty Barclay. I’m speaking about Modism. It’s something of a paradox. We can’t know what fashion is popular back in the old galaxy, but by envisioning it, we can create bold new fashions. You can go crazy just thinking about it – so instead let’s just say that the dawn of a new age has sent 164’s fashion trends into oldstyle overdrive. So how do we define Modism? As a spring 164 fashion trend, it seems to be less about traditional wear, and more about redefining what it means to be classic. We’re faced with collections that contemplate wild revolutions in Imperial fashion. Topics of rebirth and going back compete in the threads of some designers clothing, while others base their designs on wild new visions of what could be. Just another reason why the Library is The fashion place to be. Downings is so 163, and you remember what a drag that was. So cheer up, and spice up your wardrobe with a little of the latest Modist trends, now available at the Library. This is Kitty Barclay, signing off!

Trade Deal Stalls at the Library

This is your friendly reporter from the Library, Kitty Barclay. People tell me that a trade deal being negotiated at the Library is dead on arrival. Leading figures from Downings and the Library had been speaking, looking to set up a better framework for trade. Surely you’d think that if people wanted a deal, they could make it happen. Well first the Kree don’t like something that the Vinro do like. And then the Vinro disapprove of a concession being offered by the Kree. This seems to happen more often these days, not that I’d hold anyone in particular at fault. They just get along like, well, Kree and Vinro. And then, the trade delegation from Downings leaves. I hear that someone supporting the deal in Downings withdrew their support, and then the whole deal goes down. It’s a good thing we’re getting some trade with Atlantis. This is Kitty Barclay, signing off.

Theft in the Vault

This is your friendly Library reporter, Kitty Barclay. People tell me that theft is up here at the Vinro Vault. The Kree Archive has also been affected, although the treasured contents of the Vault are surely incredibly valuable. Library officials have issued statements that penalties for theft will be increased, and disreputable conduct will not be tolerated. Officials have asked Brax Sunder to look into the matter personally, and he has assured them of a prompt and thorough investigation. This is Kitty Barclay, signing off.

Winter Storm Warning

A weather system forming off the coast of Mu is expected to bring blizzard conditions to Iron Town and the surrounding settlements. All of the Mu based settlements are in the path of the storm, which is expected to be at its fiercest between 8 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday, ENN meteorologist Dan Haven (ML) said. The complicated storm system “will raise havoc” this week, dumping a foot of snow and spreading subzero wind chills across parts of the region. On top of the bone-chilling cold, much of the settlement area will be under the threat of blizzard conditions from Thursday night to Friday afternoon. The Elder’s Grove Emergency Weather Group released a statement saying, “Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel.”
