Welcome Omanganva
MorgansLanding_article

We would like to formally greet the newest Settlement on Eclipse. We hear that things may be a little strange there soon. But we urge everyone to be accepting of our new friends and trading partners. With the chaos in Atlantis, they will need us to stand by them. Much as the Nasu are always ready to heal the greatest and the least of us. So welcome Omanganva. Perhaps we all need a little more peace. This is a unanimous statement by the Town Council, representing the peaceful peoples of Morgan’s Landing

Morgan’s Landing Neutral
MorgansLanding_article

We, the rational people of Morgan’s Landing, have had a robust debate regarding the escalating conflict between our two largest neighbors. We declare our neutrality, and we wish to preserve the neutrality of Iron Town. Those traveling peacefully to or from the gate should be allowed to travelfreely within the village. Convoys bound to Morgan’s Landing, or Suzaki carrying peaceable supplies, should not be accosted on this continent. We will not be party to this unfortunate squabble. A peaceful way should be found for Juris Vinro and those accused to have a fair and open trial. And their guilt should be judged in all justice and accord. Failing that, we let you know that the people of Morgan’s Landing stand united in this. We will not allow our citizens to be robbed, beaten, abused, or murdered. Those who involve themselves in this conflict do so at their own risk. We will have fair and unimpeded access to the gate, and in return, we will stay out of your fights. And should you choose peace, we will be happy to help unite the continent in trust and mutual prosperity. I would ask for the assistance of like-minded people. The Gatekeepers, the Rangers, My son. Their allies. Anyone else. I ask for you to examine your conscience, and perhaps not send that shipment of guns into this conflict. Perhaps not murder each other. We need more empathy, and less arrogance. And if you feel that someone’s actions are unjust, maybe you don’t […]

New School for Psionics
MorgansLanding_article

The Meurlain of Morgan’s Landing, working with the Dahhak, have established a New Psionic Academy in Morgan’s Landing. They mean to compete for students who currently travel to Elder’s Grove, or the Compound. Konjito and the Ithaquan Institute are said to be welcoming the competition. Master Talat Nambesa of the Ithaquan Instutite spoke publicly on the subject. “We welcome a new home for knowledge, here on this strange world we inhabit. We hope it can promote peaceful competition, and mutual understanding. That which brings us closer together in peace is that which is good.” The new institute is as-yet unnamed, but it is said that they have employed some of the best Psions on the planet. Between this, and the world-famous Gunsel Academy, Morgan’s Landing is getting a reputation for excellence. Who would have thought that such a disparate group would maintain their identities, and also relative peace. Of course, that’s only relative to Eclipse. Anywhere else, threats of planetary annihilation, and being attacked by the Slu’ak plague, would make a place less than desirable. With rumors of conflict swirling around some of the other settlements, Morgan’s Landing may be a better place to live in peace.

New settlement planned on Mu
MorgansLanding_article

The Midir of Morgan’s Landing have announced, much to the surprise of the other residents, that they have plans to build a new settlement. The group, who call themselves Elal’s Children, have claimed land to the southwest of Morgan’s Landing. They seem to have the support of the vast majority of Midir in the settlement, and some midir from other settlements. Baytla Carasi, the group’s leader, said, “It is vital that Midir have a place to all live together, for that is our way. This dissolution of our culture is harmful not only to our heritage but to our future. Although we may never again see our home world of Trita, we can at least show our young ones a glimpse of what it was like. We plan to call our new home Little Trita. All people will be welcome to live there, if they so choose, and we hope to have a thriving trade with the other settlements of Eclipse, Morgan’s Landing especially. I ask all Midir to come assist with this endeavor. If you cannot come, send funds. If you cannot send funds, then remember us in your prayers. Elal bless you.” There is not yet a scheduled date for the start of construction. Although the land itself has been arranged, Elal’s Children are still in process of gethering resources, and appear to only have met a small fraction of their goal at this time. Many in Morgan’s Landing have expressed concern that if all the Midir leave, […]

Victory Day Festival in Morgan’s Landing
MorgansLanding_article

Morgan’s Landing held a festival, to honor those who fell fighting the Thinking Machines. It was also a celebration of life, and the growing community here on this fairly new world. The festival featured a ceremony honoring Bailiff George Malikai, who organized the defense, and fell during the battle. There were also ceremonies for 3 Midir who were responsible for saving a group of Imperials cut off during the fight, and the unknown soldiers who sacrificed their lives to defend the breaches in the ancient shields that helped Morgan’s Landing have a higher percentage of survivors than any other settlement during the battle. Mithra Gul, a Dahhak councilwoman, delivered the closing remarks. “And now we look back on the largest battle in the history of our new planet. Two years ago, the free races of Eclipse defended Morgan’s Landing, as they defended all the surviving settlements. And we did it together. Together. That should have a new meaning for all of us today. We can’t be consumed by our petty differences any more. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it was fate that tore us all down, so we could rise us again together. We fought for our freedom. Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution. We fought to prevent our annihilation. We fought for our right to live. To exist. This day should not be known as a Morgan’s Landing holiday, but as the day all the races of Origo declared in one voice. “We will not […]

New Settlement Petitions Atlantis
Atlantis

The existence of a new settlement on the continent of Mu, named Omanganva, was announced today. It is primarily made up of Nasu, with some Meurlain, Free Szgany, and a growing number of Atlantean citizens. They are located on the coast, some days travel from Morgan’s Landing. Although the exact location is not being published, the Sea Briar Szgany have let it be known that they will be traveling there regularly, and will bring peaceful visitors with them. They will also handle trading for the settlement, which could start to compete with White Falls for the pharmaceutical market. The Nasu have also announced that they are petitioning to be named as a protectorate of Atlantis. This is unprecedented in recent Atlantean history, and yet another first on a planet of new things. The Atlanteans have made no official comment about the petition, although there is said to be great interest in the motion. The recent attack on the King of Atlantis was foiled, and the King is healthy and unharmed. The life of his advisor was saved by the quick-thinking actions of nearby Nasu, one of them a resident of the new settlement. The Memnonides, some of the protectors of Atlantis, have announced that they are offering aid and protection to the new settlement. Some have already traveled there, and will protect the settlement against High Asgardians and outside threats, at least until the issue of the petition has been decided. Well I say welcome to Eclipse, Omanganva. This is […]

Grand opening a great success
MorgansLanding_article

The Morgan’s Landing Community Center had it’s grand opening today, and it was an exciting one. Group activities, games for the kids, family friendly. There are not many places among the settlements that can boast of a cultural center like this one. Makes you remember that Morgan’s Landing is really just like a slice of the Origo Galaxy, right here on Eclipse. Imperials, Meurlain, Midir, Dahhak and others. Living together in peace and harmony. We interviewed Slax, local director for the Harmony-Nexus foundation. “This is a place for all people, humans and tribes, to come together in peace. We would like to thank our founder, and all of those who have worked so hard to bring this dream to life. Let us all enjoy this place, and celebrate our differences together.”

Withdrawal Ban Lifted
MorgansLanding_article

Midir Bank spokesman Rahan Al’Bahir announced the Midir Bank is lifting its policy of limited withdrawals. “The Midir Bank has been a bedrock of stability for centuries, and it has weathered the recent crisis as well. Our internal auditing procedures have confirmed that the Bank is stable and solvent, with an ample supply of liquid assets to support the needs of our customers,” Al’Bahir said in remarks delivered outside the Bank’s headquarters in Morgan’s Landing. In fielding questions after his remarks, Al’Bahir confirmed that the Midir Bank will continue to back the Imperial Credit as well as the Midir Credit.

Winter Storm Warning
MUblizzard

A weather system forming off the coast of Mu is expected to bring blizzard conditions to Iron Town and the surrounding settlements. All of the Mu based settlements are in the path of the storm, which is expected to be at its fiercest between 8 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday, ENN meteorologist Dan Haven (ML) said. The complicated storm system “will raise havoc” this week, dumping a foot of snow and spreading subzero wind chills across parts of the region. On top of the bone-chilling cold, much of the settlement area will be under the threat of blizzard conditions from Thursday night to Friday afternoon. The Elder’s Grove Emergency Weather Group released a statement saying, “Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel.”
