The Compound welcomes immigrants
Compound_article

Voice of The Compound Saddik Sanjani has announced that they will be opening their doors for new immigrants, especially in the outer wall area. There are also new opportunities for those wishing to advance their standing into the inner walls. The Defense against the Adam Plague was successful, but some of the Compound’s valiant defenders fell. Meaning that there are opportunities for advancement. Also, during the last six months the Compound has been building, both underground and aboveground. This means there are more living spaces, more rooftop gardens, and more room for those looking for a tolerant, secure place to raise a family. Not only have the Imperials and Dahhak been able to unite as a people, they have kept faith with the teachings of Jerich the second. Mutants have been embraced, among both peoples. Ms. Sanjani points to the success of Gideion Kasla, a Kshathran. Even with the ancient hatred between the Dahhak and Kshathrans, people are able to live in peace at The Compound. Through Mr. Kasla’s hard work and dedication, he has set an example of hard work and dedication that is an inspiration to all. The Compound endorses the products of his company, Removable Defender. Their products are known to be of exceptional quality and craftsmanship, and are a testament to tolerance and dignity. He brings glory to Sundrav, and to Ehieh. Of course, they are still maintaining controls over the character of those they admit, but all Tribes and humans are welcome, and will be […]

Compound Mourns Death of Markus van Halcyon
Compound_article

The Compound mourns the loss of Markus Van Halcyon, cousin to Cmdr Giles Halcyon and activist for the fair and ethical treatment of Sundrav worshipers. Van Halcyon, a devout Sundravite himself, was attacked while on a visit to Gate Town. Gate Town was the site of the racially charged death of Xiat Dazye, a Dahhak Sundravite, at the hands of three Kshathran youths over a year ago. Van Halcyon visited with Law Enforcement to praise them for what he called heroic action in swiftly dealing justice in the case, a move that has caused tension among the Kshathra of the Qua’Ri settlement. Van Halcyon was an outspoken advocate for Sundrav worshippers that he felt were being systematically persecuted for their beliefs by Kshathrans. His itinerary was to include a visit to Qua’Ri to protest the recent acts of violence perpetrated against Dahhaks and non-Dahhak Sundravites. Few details about the incident have been released, and the cause of death has not been determined, but authorities believe that foul play was involved. The Compound refused to comment on the active investigation, but Giles Halcyon pledged to bring swift justice to the parties responsible for his cousin’s death. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday in the Temple of Sundrav at the Compound.

Compound Attacked!
Compound_article

The Compound has been attacked by the foreign nation known as High Asgard. A ship carried the crew of bloodthirsty savages up the rivers, to the very gates of The Compound. Influential Bishop S’Eerith addressed the citizen’s of this besieged settlement. “The Compound has become a shining beacon of tolerance, understanding, and unity. Unfortunately, for everything we build, there is someone all too willing to tear it down. Today has been our wake-up call. We can no longer stand by, while the forces of aggression and hatred run wild. Forty seven men, women, and yes….children were slain in this savage attack. With our loyal forces, and the help of law abiding civilians, we have beaten back this cowardly assault. I speak now from the graveside of young Wesley Lister. He gave his life, so that his classmates and friends could still live. A child, slain by savages. We must rise to meet this threat, We must mobilize to defend ourselves. We must defeat these High Asgardians, and the forces of intolerance, where ever they are.” The Duennan have been demonstrating for several days in favor of increased enlistment, and for a declaration of war against the High Asgardians. No news out of Commander Halcyon’s office yet, but the public pressure seems to be growing for a response. A demonstration of the capability of The Compound to defend itself, and make Eclipse safe for the children.

Protesters Call for End to Anti-Sundravite Violence
Compound_article

A protest rally was held calling for justice in the death of Xiat Da’axye, a Dahhak Sundravite that died at the hands of three Kshathran males in Gatetown about six months ago. The protesters, made up of both humans and Dahhak claim that the attack, as well as a bombing in the Compound by a Qua’Ri native is an indication of the growing anti-Dahhak and anti-Sundrav sentiment among the Kshathrans in Downings. Organizing the protest was Markus van Halcyon, relative to Giles Halcyon and member of the temple of Sundrav. Van Halcyon claims that the attacks are the acts of ‘cowards and hate-mongers’ and that the Kshathrans must be taken to task for the role that their society played in such brazen assaults. He claims that Sundravites all over Eclipse are afraid to openly worship, for fear of being attacked. Van Halcyon also denounced officials for allowing the Kshathran responsible for the bombing in the Compound to be remanded to the custody of Qua’Ri instead of having him tried in an Imperial court for crimes against its citizens. Aside from a few heated moments, the protest was conducted peacefully and was disbursed by Compound security forces without incident. Both Giles Halcyon and the Council of Qua’Ri declined to comment.

The investigation into the fire at Power Control Junction #3 has concluded. Six suspects have been indicted, all of them citizens of Downings. He has been remanded into the custody of the Elders of the Quarry, in Downings, for their trial and punishment. This course was plead by Saddik Sanjani, newly appointed military public relations head. “What these people did was wrong, and we will not stand for this senseless aggression. However, we will work within the community of the settlements on Eclipse, and with the Rangers, to see that justice is done, not vengeance. We thank those who captured Mr. Yitzar, and are working with the Compound to ensure that those who practice aggression against other sentients are not tolerated.”

Hope to the Helpless: Cornerstone Adoption Agency
Compound_article

by Lily Lister This has been an age of unsurpassed achievement. When threatened by the worst foe in living memory, Eclipse emerged victorious. Yet when the dust settled we saw that our great victory also contained great loss. None were hit harder than those already most vulnerable: the children. Thirty-eight percent of all children at the Compound are orphans. However, thanks to the efforts of a warm-hearted couple, that percentage is daily decreasing. Donald and Karen D’Loc decided they couldn’t stand by when children were living in the streets. Thus, Cornerstone Adoption Agency was formed. I sat down with Mrs. D’Loc over lunch to discuss the tragic circumstances, her and her husband’s call to action, and the blossoming of CAA. Lily Lister: So, Mrs. D’Loc— Karen D’Loc: Please, call me Karen. LL: All right. Karen, many people must have seen the orphan problem at the Compound, but you and your husband were the only ones who did something about it. Why do you think that is? KD: Oh, well, we weren’t the only ones. There’s also been the Duennan, but times have been tough for everyone, and so many families were devastated in the war. I don’t think people intentionally turned a blind eye to the suffering. They just weren’t able to see beyond their own struggle. LL: What made you and Donald different? KD: For a while we weren’t. But then on my way home one day, a little boy named Caleb—no more than four years old—asked if I […]

Explosion, Fire at Power Control Station
Compound_article

An explosion yesterday at Power Control Junction #3 inside the Compound injured at least 6 people, 4 of them children. The blast resulted in a fire at the power control junction, which manages the electricity for the southern portion of Second Wall and portions of the inner Compound, including the water filtration system. The extent of the injuries is not immediately known, but a group of children, believed to be visiting the grounds as part of a scheduled tour, were badly burned and rushed to the inner Compound medical center. The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.
